I'm Cameron Gould, a designer, artist, and community builder proudly based in Wagga Wagga, NSW. With 17 years of experience in commercial printing, tourism publications, signwriting, and design agencies, I understand how regional businesses communicate and compete, which fuels my dedication to supporting our local economy.
I run Gould Co Design Agency, where I help local businesses build brands through research and strategy rather than just making things look nice. My focus on regional businesses reflects my commitment to their growth, inspiring confidence and pride among local clients and partners.
Outside of work, I admin the 'What's Happening in Wagga' community group, Play music, and spend time with my young family. Sharing these efforts aims to show my genuine commitment to our community, making local members feel appreciated and connected.
My belief is that good design should be accessible to all local businesses, especially outside the city.
My life choices have always been linked to creating every single day and making a living from it.
I have 17 years of experience in the field, supported by 5 years of formal study—a Certificate IV and Diploma in Digital Media, plus a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design from CSU Wagga.
My ultimate goal has always been to start my own design agency. As a regional graphic designer, I have found myself in a competitive market with limited job opportunities. This has motivated me to freelance and explore diverse roles, including signwriter, web designer, production leader, and mentor to over a dozen aspiring graphic designers.
Creating is what keeps me sane. It's not just what I do—it's how I process the world. Every single day, I need to make something. That drive has pushed me to learn constantly, making my services more valuable because I'm not just designing logos, I'm thinking about how your business sign will look before your logo is even approved. I'm planning for growth, not just launch day.
I believe design is a powerful tool that helps individuals recognise and realise their full potential. With my unique skill set, I create visual stories that reflect each individual's true self, ensuring that every piece of promotional material showcases distinct characteristics. That's why my designs feature very different styles—it enables me to approach various industries and create successful outcomes across a wide range of fields.
I go beyond what clients ask for because I'm invested in their growth—building brands companies can grow into, not ones they'll need to replace in three years. When you succeed, I can work with you again. That's why I'll go beyond the brief. I'm building a network of local talent to support my business's future success, and your growth is my insurance policy.
I've always loved drawing and excelled in art throughout school. During the COVID-19 pandemic, my wife and I lived in Melbourne, where we were both essential workers. We cherished our home at the base of the Dandenong Ranges—a truly special place.
I purchased an iPad during the pandemic and created over 30 pieces of art, which I now sell as limited-edition prints through Hound and Bone, a specialised fine art print studio, I believe, that is the best in the country. I've meticulously chosen every detail to ensure my prints reflect my commitment to quality.
However, as our finances have tightened, I've found it increasingly difficult to dedicate time to my art, and I've had to take my e-commerce store offline due to the rising cost of living. My art prints are still available for purchase here: https://cameron-gould.webflow.io/
This is where my need to create daily comes from. Art isn't separate from design work—it's the foundation. It's how I stay sharp, how I experiment without client constraints, how I maintain the creative stamina that makes everything else possible.
Through this business, I am committed to supporting our community. Wagga is special, but we don't truly recognise all that we have to offer. Over the years, I have seen tremendous growth. Having lived in many regional cities where tourism plays a significant role in their success—such as Bathurst (my hometown), Port Macquarie (Mid North Coast), and Albury/Wodonga—I understand the value of community connections. My time in Melbourne showed me how cities leverage their networks differently, but the principles of connection remain the same.
Many people are doing great work, and I enjoy connecting these individuals. As our community grows, we all need to contribute to encouraging our local economy. Thrive by Gould is the final branch of my Ikigai—where what I love, what I'm good at, what the world needs, and what sustains me all intersect.
Thrive by Gould is me putting my business on the line. It's a way for me to use everything I know to help locals pursue their goals—a vehicle for harnessing the potential we already have but might not be fully utilising. I'm building the network I need while helping others build the networks they need to sustain and grow in our beautiful city.

With over 17 years in commercial printing, signwriting, web design, and regional media, I've learned that a brand's ability to build trust before the first conversation is crucial for business success.
I've witnessed technically perfect brands fail while others thrive by authentically reflecting their identity. This difference lies in how effectively a brand conveys the owner's personality and visual credibility
My role is to transform these realities into a brand position that attracts customers over established competitors, That's why I work directly with business owners.
Trained at Western Institute TAFE and Charles Sturt University, I utilise my knowledge to help regional businesses differentiate themselves from larger-budget competitors by being distinct.
I analyse the top performers in your industry, both locally and internationally, to identify the factors that contribute to their success. By doing this, I can position your business using insights from the best in the field, while also valuing your input throughout the process.
I utilise Pinterest to align with your business's style. This helps me better understand your vision and personality, enabling me to create a visual board tailored to your vision.
I enjoy exploring ideas on paper by playing with letters and symbols that reflect your personality and express your passion for your work. This is often a time when I focus intensively for a week or two on developing the company's promotional materials, including social media graphics, print advertisements, sign elements, and patterns.
I ensure the logo adapts to different environments while still conveying the same message. This is a significant step that directly contributes to businesses thriving and evolving into their idenity.
During the branding process, I build out a library of semi-finished elements — ad layouts, social templates, signage concepts — that sit ready in your files.
When you need to expand, launch something new, or hit a busy season, we pull them up, finalise, and you're live. No starting from scratch.
No full-price repeat jobs.
Customers make decisions in seconds. Before they read your menu, check your prices, or hear your pitch — they've already judged whether you're worth their time based on what they see. Good design builds trust instantly, making your first impression count. Bad design creates doubt that's hard to undo.
The difference between thriving and closing often comes down to visual choices most business owners don't realise they're making. Regional businesses, especially, can't afford to look amateur compared to franchise competitors with national marketing budgets. Making deliberate visual decisions can empower you to stand out and succeed.
I've worked with mining companies, primary producers, hairdressers competing against chains, takeaway owners, and mental health organisations. Different industries, same core problem — they needed to look as good as they actually are. My branding process is streamlined to fit your schedule, ensuring a professional outcome without disrupting your daily operations.
I design brands that ignore ongoing trends and lean into what's actually true — the people making the decisions, the local knowledge, the relationships that chains will never replicate. That's your competitive advantage.
One simple word — Diversification.
My philosophy centres on embracing a multidisciplinary approach, blending commercial, artistic, and community work to create meaningful regional impact. Running a design agency taught me that creative skills don't fit neatly into one box.
I work across three connected streams: commercial design through Gould Co, where I help regional businesses build brands that actually compete; original artwork created on iPad and printed through Melbourne Art Print Studio; and community-focused communications, marketing, and training through my community arm, THRIVE by Gould Co.
Each feeds the others. Client work sharpens my visual problem-solving. Art keeps the creative muscle honest. Community work grounds everything in real local impact, making the work meaningful and relevant to regional communities.
I'm building a sustainable creative practice that supports my family while staying engaged with work that matters. Regional Australia needs people who can move fluidly between sectors — who understand both the commercial realities of running a business and the community value of showing up for the places we live, fostering a sense of shared purpose and long-term impact.
Let’s drive your business forward.
